On the 19th of August, in Bradford, United Kingdom UK Butterflies organised a full day event for professionals working with families in the UK and internationally. The assumptions of the seminar was to present outcomes of our international project which were developed as a response to the problems faced by employees working for the social sector in the institutions run by the Eldership in Oświęcim.
The main goal of the event was to share, discuss and circulate the outcomes of materials that are available in Polish and English and to adapt the method of working with families which are at risk of social exclusion. The aim of the event was to enable an implementation and development of a universal set of tools along with a manual for their use to support Family Workers and to raise professional competences of people working in the social care sector. This will help them to support families having difficulties in properly fulfilling the care and educational function.
As part of the event the following results of intellectual work were shared: 1. Standard of professional competence for social workers, family assistants and family coordinators 2. Tools for performing professional tasks by social workers - FAMILY STAR program 3. Guide and instructions for social workers on how to work with the family using the FAMILY STAR tools
During the event in this difficult COVID era we found time to network not only locally but also nationally and internationally. It was a very successful event. Thank you to Bradford Metropolitan District Council & local authorities for your support in the project outcomes' dissemination.
You will find the outcomes in Polish and English below.
